A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE COUNCIL OF
<br />THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH TO THE I.C. NORCOM HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY
<br />FOOTBALL TEAM AND THEIR COACHES ON WINNING THE GROUP AAA
<br />DIVISION 5 VIRGINIA STATE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR
<br />1993.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the I.C. Norcom High School Varsity Football Team
<br />has won the 1993 Group AAA Division 5 Virginia State High
<br />School Football Championship concluding an undefeated season in
<br />which the team won 14 games; and
<br />
<br /> W/qEREAS, the I.C. Norcom High School Varsity Football Team
<br />was honored by being ranked Number 22 in the USA Today National
<br />Poll; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the I.C. Norcom High School Varsity Football Team
<br /> members are Jay Clarke, Jason Wells, Rudolph Howard, Roderick
<br /> Richardson, Carlton Woodis, Jermale Smith, Otavious Brothers,
<br /> Neil Cannon, Jeremy Glover, Dedric Johnson, Joseph Bracey, Eric
<br /> Allen, Antonio Cuffee, Romac Chavis, Larry Staton, Michael
<br /> Ricks, Antonio Ricks, Damon Wefts, Albert Gary, Harold Dubose,
<br /> David Turner, Richard DeBerry, Ramon Whitfield, Damon Ricks,
<br /> Aric Cooper, Michael Alston, Kendrick Banks, Emanuel Jackson,
<br /> Dale Oltarzewski, Whaley Smith, Douglas Bryant, Vernard Hinton,
<br /> Matte' McCall, Donald Drewery, Jermaine Bullock, Johnathan
<br /> Franklin, Jerronne Coleman, Richard Spruill, Lavar Bowers,
<br /> Larmar Bowers, Maceo Thomas, Jermaine Granger, Anthony Hawkins,
<br /> Kevin Mapp, Reginald Demps, Kimani Council, Hurley Peebles,
<br /> Brandon Thompson, Kelvin Coles, Michal Hicks, Warren Hart,
<br /> Eugene Ramsey, Michael Blount, Robert Windley and Torrence
<br /> Oxendine.

<br /> WHEREAS, the I.C. Norcom High School Varsity Football
<br />Team, was ably coached by Head Coach Joe Langston, and by
<br />Assistant Coaches Kenny Rodgers, Samuel Warren, Vincent Pugh,
<br />Harold Price, Danny Hill, Michael Shambly, Leroy Williams,
<br />Herman Terry and Robert Jackson; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, I.C. Norcom High School Varsity Football Team, by
<br />its successful athletic achievements as a team, by the
<br />individual achievements of the members of the team and by the
<br />skill and dedication of the coaching staff and all of the
<br />persons affiliated with the team, has represented I.C. Norcom
<br />High School and the City of Portsmouth in a commendable manner
<br />throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
