AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />vIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING SECTION 38-117(a) THEREOF, <br />PERTAINING TO P~ATES FOR DISPOSAL OF SEWAGE. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 38-117(a) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended and reordained as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 38-117. Rate. <br /> <br /> (a) Charges for the disposal of sewage discharged into <br />the City sewer system will be based upon the water consumed on <br />the premises as measured by meters used for this purpose at the <br />rate of $1.1362 per one thousand (1,000) gallons or $0.85 one <br />hundred (100) cubic feet. The minimum charge for such service <br />shall be one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per month. <br /> <br /> 2. This ordinance shall take effect as of July 1, 1996 <br />and shall be applicable to all bills rendered after July 1, <br />1996. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held on April 23, 1996. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
