1996-19 AN Ot~DINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF CAMBRIDGE STREET, WALLACE CIRCLE, POTOMAC AVENUE AND A TEN FOOT ALLEY. Whereas, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, desires to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portions of Cambridge Street, Wallace Circle, Potomac Avenue, and a Ten foot alley; and Whereas, by a resolution of this Council adopted on December 12, 1995, viewers were appointed pursuant uo Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said sEreeEs and alley, and report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing said portion of Cambridge Street, Wallace Circle, Potomac Avenue and ten foot alley; and Whereas, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion, no inconvenience would result in the closing and discontinuing of that portion of Cambridge Street, Wallace Circle, Potomac Avenue and a ten foot alley. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That the portions of said streets and ten foot alley be closed and vacated as public streets and alley, as follows: no That portion of Cambridge Avenue and Detroit Street bounded on the south by the northern right-of-way line of Hartford Street and on the north by a line bisecting the right-of-way of Cambridge Avenue located sixty (60) feet south of the northern right- of-way line of Detroit Street including that portion of Detroit Street previously dedicated to the City of Portsmouthl; all of such portion lying within the boundaries of the property owned by Portsmouth Partners of Virginia known as River Edge Apartments (formerly Barlow Place). That portion of Wallace Circle and Greenbriar Road bounded on the west by the eastern right-of-way line of Cambridge Avenue and on the north by the boundary line of River Edge Apartments as it crosses Greenbriar Road; all of such portion lying within the boundaries of the property owned by Portsmouth Partners of Virginia known as River Edge Apartments (formerly Barlow Place).
