AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY STREET CLOSURE. WHEREAS, Maryview Hospital, has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described Pedestrian Walkway; and WHEREAS, the Planning commission, at a meeting held on June 3, 1997 recommended approval of the closing and discontinuing of said street; and WHEREAS, notice of Pedestrian Walkway street closure has been published and mailed to adjoining property owners, in accordance with Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Pedestrian Walkway be closed and vacated as a public right-of-way, as follows: All that certain lot, piece or parcel or land situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the eastern right of way line of former West Road (closed) and the northern right of way line of High Street; thence North 47° 04' West along said northern right of way line of High Street a distance of 10.69 feet to a point; thence north 22° 10' East parallel to the eastern right-of-way of former West Road (closed) a distance of 383.75 feet to a point; thence northerly along a curve to the left, having a radius of 313.26 feet, an arc distance of 78.06 feet to a point; thence South 82° 06' 37" East a distance of 10.00 feet to a point on the eastern right of way line of former West Road (closed); thence southerly along the eastern right of way of former West Road (closed) on a curve to the right, having a radius of 323.26 feet, an arc distance of 80.55 feet to a point; thence South 22° 10' West along said eastern right of way a distance of 387.54 feet to the point of beginning; as shown on that certain plat entitled "Plat Showing 10' Easement to be Acquired for Pedestrian Walkway", dated August 3, 1970, prepared by Department of Engineering, City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and
