AN ORDINANCE CLOSING BEECH ROAD, WEST ROAD (THE EASTERN <br />PORTION), GLASGOW STREET, STREET WITHIN ATLANTIC COAST LINE <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY, WEST ROAD (WESTERN PORTION) AND MYRTLE ROAD, EAST <br />ROAD, CEDAR WAY, BRANCH ROAD AND UNNAMED STREETS, OR PORTIONS <br />THEREOF. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Maryview Hospital, has made application to vacate <br />and close and discontinue the hereinafter described streets, or <br />portions thereof. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at a meeting held on <br />February 4, 1997, recommended approval of the closing and <br />discontinuing of said streets, or portions thereof; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice of the proposed street closures has been <br />published and mailed to the adjoining property owners, in <br />accordance with Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, <br />as amended. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described be <br />closed and vacated as public streets. <br /> <br /> BEECH ROAD <br /> <br /> All of Beech Road as shown on that <br /> certain plat entitled "Plat Of <br /> Glenshellah, Property Of The Armistead <br /> Corporation, Norfolk County, Virginia," <br /> which said plat is duly recorded in the <br /> Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of <br /> the City of Chesapeake, Virginia in Map <br /> Book 18 at Pages 18, 19 and 20, including <br /> the fork in Beech Road running to both <br /> Mulberry Road and West Road as shown on <br /> said plat. <br /> <br /> WEST ROAD (the eastern portion) <br /> <br /> All that portion of West Road <br /> beginning at the southern right-of-way <br /> line of the former Seaboard Coast Line <br /> (Atlantic Coast Line) Railroad, and <br /> thence in a westerly direction 363.3 <br /> feet, more or less, to the point where <br /> West Road intersects the southern <br /> right-of-way line of Mulberry Road, all <br /> as shown on the. plat entitled "Plat Of <br /> Glenshellah, Property Of The Armistead <br /> <br /> <br />
