k. K-9 Corps <br /> <br /> Any sworn officer of the Police Department assigned to the <br /> K-9 Corps shall be allowed an hour's pay per day for canine <br /> care and maintenance. This time will be reflected as hours <br /> worked and be paid at the officer's hourly rate. On working <br /> days these duties will be performed within the scheduled <br /> hours. When the canine is housed at the canine facility, the <br /> officer will receive no compensation for those days. <br /> <br />SECTION 7. COMPLEMENTS OF FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS <br /> <br /> The authorized complement of the Fire Department shall be one <br /> Chief, one Deputy Chief, seven Battalion Chiefs, thirty-three <br /> Captains, forty-one Lieutenants, and one hundred Ewenty-eight <br /> Firefighters, for a total sworn complement of two hundred <br /> eleven. <br /> <br /> The authorized complement of the Police Department shall be <br /> one Chief, one Assistant Chief, four Captains, thirteen <br /> Lieutenants, twenty-seven Sergeants, and two hundred and three <br /> Police Officers, for a total sworn complement of two hundred <br /> forty-nine. <br /> <br />SECTION 8. SALARIES FOR UNCLASSIFIED POSITIONS <br /> <br />The annual salary rates of the following unclassified positions <br />shall be the amounu stated herein: <br /> <br /> City Manager $101,970 <br /> City Attorney $ 92,700 <br /> City Assessor $ 72,807 <br /> City Clerk $ 55,680 <br /> Mayor $ 20,000 <br /> Council Member $ 18,000 <br /> <br />In addition to the base salary, the City Manager is hereby <br />authorized the following: $6,000 car allowance; $3,600 general <br />expenses and $1,704 for health insurance. <br /> <br />The City Attorney, in addition to his base salary, is auuhorized <br />the following: $2,280 in family health insurance. <br /> <br />SECTION 9. ADJUSTMENTS TO RETIREMENT ALLOWANCES <br /> <br />The adjustments of retirement allowances as prescribed in <br />Sections 30-122 and 30-243 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, (1988) shall be a 3% supplement based on their current <br />base pension. <br /> <br /> -9- <br /> <br /> <br />
