R-97-56 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH'S 1998 <br />LEGISLATIVE PROPOSALS TO BE PRESENTED TO THE PORTSMOUTH <br />DELEGATION AND THE MEMBERS OF THE VIRGINIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Virginia General Assembly deals with a broad <br />range of issues that affect local governments both directly and <br />indirectly; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has certain concerns which <br />deal with both local governments and Portsmouth specifically; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these concerns and issues need to be made known <br />to Portsmouth's General Assembly Delegation so that they may be <br />transmitted for consideration by the Legislature. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of uhe <br />City of Portsmouth endorses the attached legislative proposals <br />for the 1998 General Assembly Session and directs that both <br />this resolution and the legislative proposals be forwarded to <br />the Portsmouth General Assembly Delegation. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held on November 25, 1997. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
