AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING A PORTION OF EARL STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, John B. and Jean M. Ragland have made application <br />to close and vacate a portion of Earl Street as hereafter <br />described; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission , at a meeting held on <br />February 3, 1998, recommended approval of the closing and <br />vacating of said portion of said street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice of the proposed closure has given <br />adjoining property owners in accordance with Section 15.2-2006 <br />of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia that the western 320 feet, more or <br />less, of Earl Street from its intersection with the eastern <br />line of Boyd Street to the point where the eastern lines of <br />Lots ! and 5 as shown on the plat entitled "Lamper Place Plat <br />No. 2, Norfolk County, Va., Property of Melvin Prier & Chesley <br />K. Lamb" intersect and extend through Earl Street be closed and <br />vacated as a public right-of-way and street. <br /> <br /> Adopted at a meeting of the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia held on March 10, 1998. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
