AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 40 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY ADDING NEW SECTIONS 40-41.01 AND <br />40-41.02 THERETO AND BY AMENDING TABLES 40-44-1 AND 40-44-2 <br />THEREOF PERTAINING TO THE CREATION OF TWO NEW RESIDENTIAL <br />ZONING DISTRICTS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Chapter 40 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be <br />amended by adding thereto new Sections 40-41.01 and 40-41.02 to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 40-41.01. Residential RS-400 district. <br /> <br /> Primarily a district for single-family detached dwellings on lots with a minimum <br />size of 40,000 square feet and including the customary accessory uses. <br /> <br />Sec. 40-41.02. Residential RS-300 district. <br /> <br /> Primarily a district for single-family detached dwellings on lots with a minimum <br />size of 30,000 square feet and including the customary accessory uses. <br /> <br /> 2. That Table 40-44-1 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) <br />be amended to add the following dimensional requirements for the RS-400 and RS-300 <br />Residential zoning districts: <br /> <br /> RS-400 Single-Family RS-300 Single-Family <br /> <br />Net Maximum Density (u/a) 1.1 1.5 <br /> <br />Minimum Lot Size (sf) 40,000 30,000 <br /> <br />Minimum Lot Area <br />Per Unit (sf) 40,000 30,000 <br /> <br />Minimum Lot Width (ft) 175 150 <br /> <br />Minimum floor Area In <br /> Each Unit (sf) 2000(e) 2000(e) <br /> <br />Maximum Building Height (ft) 36 36 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
