R-98-25 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO THE <br />REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE SOUTHSIDE III REDEVELOPMENT <br />PROJECT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted February 24, 1976, approved a <br />Redevelopment Plan for the Southside III Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia <br />(Plan); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and <br />approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area, which Plan consists of 13 pages <br />and 2 exhibits (Amendment No. 6); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 6 proposes to add certain properties to the project <br />area and to designate additional properties as "To Be Acquired"; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council, it is in the interest of the City and <br />its inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That regarding Amendment No. 6, it is hereby found: <br /> <br />(a) That the objectives of the Redevelopment Plan for the Southside III Redevelopment <br />Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment <br />to the Plan. <br />(b) That Amendment No. 6 meets the requirements of a plan for a redevelopment project <br />pursuant to Chapter 1 of Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. <br /> <br />2. That Amendment No. 6, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby <br />approved and adopted and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said <br />Amendment with the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on June <br />23, 1998. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
