ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z-98-08 BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That the portion of the zoning map attached to and made a part of the City of Portsmouth Zoning Ordinance which now zones as Residential RM-60, the properties described in Petition for Zoning Amendment Number Z-98-08, is hereby amended and changed so as to show said properties zoned as Downtown D-1-R (Residential), and that said properties are hereby zoned as Downtown D-1-R (Residential). 2. That the properties affected by this ordinance by being zoned from Residential RM-60 to Downtown D-1-R (Residential) are described as follows: Z-98-08 Beginning at a point approximately 99' west of the northwest corner of the intersection of South Street and Thomas Circle; thence, in a southwesterly direction approximately 550' to a point; thence, south approximately 300' to a point; thence in a westerly direction approximately 220' to a point; thence, north approximately 95' to a point; thence, west approximately 89' to a point; thence, north approximately 91' to a point; thence, in a northwesterly direction approximately 45' to a point; thence, north approximately 225' to a point; thence, west approximately 255' to a point; thence, north approximately 630' to a point; thence, east approximately 1,125 to a point; thence, south approximately 105' to a point; thence, east approximately 20' to a point; thence, south approximately 100' to a point; thence, east approximately 19' to a point; thence, south 104' to a point; thence west approximately 25' to a point; thence, south approximately 188' to the point of the beginning. 3. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on January 12, 1999. Teste: City Clerk
