R-99-32 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING APPROVAL FOR A GROUP HOUSING USE <br />PERMIT (GHP-99-02) TO CONSTRUCT 28 SINGLE-FAMILY DETACHED, 26 <br />DUPLEX, 12 TRIPLEX, AND 30 APARTMENT RESIDENTIAL UNITS IN THE <br />900-1200 BLOCKS OF SOUTH STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the applicant, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, <br />owner of the subject property, has made application pursuant to Section 40-112 of the <br />Code of the City of Portsmouth. Virginia (1988), as amended, for the approval and <br />granting of a group housing permit to construct 28 single-family detached, 26 duplex, 12 <br />triplex, and 30 apartment residential units in the 900-1200 blocks of South Street, <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, more particularly described as follows: <br /> <br /> GHP-99-02 <br /> <br /> Beginning at the southwestern intersection <br />of Pines Crescent (formerly Thomas Circle) and <br />South Street, thence south approximately 127 feet <br />along the western right-of-way line of Pines <br />Crescent to a point; thence west approximately 85 <br />feet to a point; thence southwest approximately <br />27 feet to a point: thence west approximately 105 <br />feet to a point; thence southwest approximately <br />37 feet no a point; thence north approximately <br />100 feet along the eastern right-of-way line of <br />Apple Street to a point; thence east <br />approximately 242 feet along the southern right- <br />of-way line of South Street to the point of <br />beginning. <br /> Beginning at the southwestern intersection <br />of Apple Street and South Street thence south <br />approximately 117 feet along the western right- <br />of-way line of Apple Street to a point; thence <br />southwest approximately 15 feet to a point; <br />thence west approximately 70 feet to a point; <br />thence southwest approximately 25 feet to a <br />point; thence west approximately 105 feet to a <br />point: thence southwest approximately 35 feet to <br />a point; thence north approximately 92 feet along <br />the eastern right-of-way line of Pines Crescent <br />to a point; thence east approximately 240 feet <br />along the southern right-of-way line of South <br />Street to the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed such application and site <br />plan submitted therewith and has recommended conditional approval of said application; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the applicant has been informed that approval of the group housing <br />project pursuant to Section 40-116 only grants an exemption from certain requirements <br /> <br /> <br />
