R-99-35 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE AGREEMENT TO CONVEY THE PINNERS POINT FIRE STATION AND TWO OTHER PARCELS OF LAND TO THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA (VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION), AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DEED(S) OF CONVEYANCE FOR SAID PROPERTIES TO THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA AS MAY BE APPROPRIATE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into a Purchase Agreement with the Commonwealth of Virginia, acting through the Virginia Department of Transportation, that will provide that the City of Portsmouth is to convey to the Commonwealth of Virginia the Pinners Point Fire Station and two other parcels of land, necessary to the construction of an additional tube and interchanges at the Midtown Tunnel, said lands being described as follows, to-wit: All that certain piece, or parcel of land, with the buildings and improvements thereon, situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being designated as Parcel 064, as shown on Sheets 8 and 25 of the plans for Route 164, State Highway Project 0164-124- FO4, RW-201. and beginning on the west (left) side of the construction centerline of Ramp C at the existing right of way of Cleveland Street at approximate State 44+15 to the lands now or formerly owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia through its Virginia Port Authority at approximate Station 46+28, being 0.782 acres, more or less. All that certain piece, or parcel of land, situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being designated as Parcel 048, as shown on Sheets 20 and 21 of the plans for Route 164, State Highway Project 0164-124-FO4, RW-201, and beginning on the west (left) side of Route the 58. westbound (WB) construction centerline at the lands owned by the Commonwealth of Virgima, at approximate Station 75+70 to the lands now or formerly owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia through its Virginia Port Authority at approximate Station 83+75, being 9.2823 acres, more or less. All that certain piece, or parcel of land, situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being designated as Parcel 035, as shown on Sheets 18 and 19 of the plans for Route 164, State Highway Project 0164~124-FO4, RW-201, and beginning on the south (right) side of the Route 58 eastbound (EB) centerline at approximate Station 61+98 to the lands now or formerly owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia through its Virginia Port Authority at approximate Station 65+08, being 2.462 acres, more or less. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the City Manager is authorized to execute deed(s) and other documents necessary and appropriate to convey the properties to the Commonwealth of Virginia pursuant to said Purchase Agreement.
