2000-11 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 16 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING SECTIONS 16-65(a) and (b) AND <br />16-66(b) and (c) THEREOF, PERTAINING TO GARBAGE AND REFUSE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Sections 16-65(a) and (b) and 16-66(b) and (c) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 16-65. Rates for standard containers. <br /> <br /> (a) Where garbage and refuse are stored in 32-gallon containers or in properly sealed <br />plastic or polyethylene refuse bags, the charge for each two-month period shall be based upon <br />the volume of refuse normally generated for the particular class of business, and the rate charged <br />for service shall be as follows: <br /> <br /> Standard Minimum <br />Collections Containers Charge <br />per week per Collection Bi-Monthly <br /> <br />1 0 to4 $ 16.00 <br />2 0 to 4 32.00 <br />2 5 to 8 64.00 <br />2 9 to 12 96.00 <br /> <br /> (b) Where garbage and refuse are stored in automated 65- or 105-gallon refuse <br />containers, the charge for each month shall be based upon the volume of refuse normally <br />generated for the particular class of business, and the rate shall be as follows: <br /> <br /> Standard Minimum <br />Collections Containers Charge <br />per week per Collection per Month <br /> <br />1 0 to 2 $16.00 <br /> <br />Sec. 16-66.
