A $55.00 maximum towing fee may be charged for a tow between 6:01 p.m. until <br /> 7:59 a.m. <br /> A $55.00 maximum towing fee may be charged for a tow on the city holidays <br /> listed below: <br /> New Years Day, 1st day of January <br /> Lee-Jackson-King Day, 3rd Monday in January <br /> Presidents Day, 3rd Monday in February <br /> Memorial Day, Last Monday in May <br /> Independence Day, 4th day of July <br /> Labor Day, 1st Monday in September <br /> Veterans Day, 1 lth day of November <br /> Thanksgiving Day, 4th Thursday in November <br /> Christmas Day, 25th day of December <br /> If a call requires more than one (1) wrecker, the fee per wrecker shall not exceed <br /> the single wrecker fees set out herein. <br /> An additional $20.00 may be charged for using tow dollies. A storage fee of <br /> $10.00 per day may be charged commencing twenty-four hours after the tow and <br /> any fraction of a day thereafter. <br /> Additional charges may be assessed for tows involving unusual circumstances and <br /> written on an approved tow bill. Unusual circumstances include, but are not <br /> necessarily limited to: <br /> Vehicles which have driven completely or partially of fa bridge or <br /> overpass. <br /> Vehicles stuck in mud or water. <br /> Vehicles requiring extrication from a tree, utility pole or other comparable <br /> object. <br /> Vehicles which are on their sides or roofs and which require being righted. <br /> These fees shall only apply to tows within the City of Portsmouth. <br /> (4) Maintaining of a business office accessible to patrons during reasonable <br /> business hours. <br /> (5) Keeping accurate and complete records of all transactions governed by <br /> this section. <br /> (6) Maintaining proper custody of towed vehicles and their contents. <br /> <br /> (c) Separate listings for those tow operators who will perform services only <br />during daytime hours on regular weekdays and for those tow operators who are willing to <br />perform services during night hours, weekends and holidays. <br /> (d) Reasonable sanctions against operators who violate the rules and <br />regulations, including suspension and removal from the tow book; provided, that the <br />operator in question shall receive notice of his delinquencies and shall have an <br />opportunity to respond before any remedial action is taken. <br /> (e) All other roles, regulation or conditions which are incidental to the <br />guidelines promulgated herein or which are necessary and proper to implement these <br />guidelines. <br /> (f) Tow operators called pursuant to the provisions of subsection (a) shall be <br />called in sequence; after performing their services or being unable to respond for any <br /> <br /> <br />
