added to such license fee a penalty of ten percent of the amount of the license fee or <br />(2.00), whichever is greater, to be assessed and paid along with the license fee as part <br />thereof. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-86. Transfer between vehicles. <br /> <br /> Any person who has paid a license fee required by this article for any motor <br />vehicle or vehicle attached thereto and who desires to change the same to cover another <br />motor vehicle or vehicle attached thereto owned by him shall present the decal or sticker <br />receipt and decal or sticker, if any to the city treasurer for transfer to such other motor <br />vehicle or vehicle attached thereto and shall pay a fee of $2.00 to the city for such <br />transfer. In such case, a new decal or sticker number will be assigned, and the previous <br />decal or sticker number will be made "inactive". <br /> <br />Sec. 22-87. Refund of erroneously paid fee. <br /> <br /> (a) Any person who feels that he has erroneously paid a license fee required <br />by this article for any motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer may, within ninety days of the <br />date on which he paid such fee. make application, in writing, to the commissioner of the <br />revenue for a refund of the mount of such fee erroneously paid. An application that is <br />not timely made will not be considered. <br /> <br /> (b) If the commissioner of revenue is satisfied that the license fee has been <br />erroneously paid, he shall certify to the city treasurer that such payment was erroneous. <br />The city treasurer is authorized to refund the erroneous payment to the applicant. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-87.1. Refund for unused portion of license fee. <br /> <br /> (a) Any person paying a license fee on a vehicle under the requirements of <br />this article shall be entitled to a refund upon furnishing proof, satisfactory to the <br />commissioner of the revenue: <br /> <br /> (1) That the decal or sticker has been removed from the vehicle for which it <br /> was issued and destroyed; or <br /> <br /> (2) Upon surrendering to the commissioner of the revenue the decal or sticker <br /> issued under the provisions of this article; or <br /> <br /> (3) Upon producing satisfactory evidence that such sticker or decal is no longer <br /> required under this article. <br /> <br />(b) The amount to be refunded to such person shall be one-half of the amount paid for <br />such sticker or decal if surrendered between January 1 and June 30 of the year for which <br />such license was issued and one-fourth of such amount if surrendered between July 1 and <br /> <br /> <br />
