R-01-57 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A PROJECT PRIORITY LISTING FOR URBAN <br />ROAD CONSTRUCTION FOR THE SIX,YEAR PERIOD FY 2002-2007THROUGH <br />FY 2007-2008. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth has been requested to give <br />consideration and provide advice on a proposed program of Urban road improvements to be <br />included in the Virginia Department of Transportation Six-Year Urban Road Plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has carefully considered the needs of the City and the staff <br />recommendation with respect to this proposal; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />that it does hereby adopt the following project priority listing, for inclusion in the "Urban System <br />Construction program" prepared by the Virginia Department of Transportation for the Six-Year <br />Urban Road Plan during the six-year period of FY2002-2007 through FY-2007-2008: <br /> <br />1. Martin Luther King Freeway Extension - Extend the 4 lanes of Martin Luther <br />King Freeway along Harbor Drive to Turnpike Road. <br /> <br />2. Airline Boulevard - Upgrade to 4 lanes from City Park Avenue to western city <br />limit. <br /> <br />3. Elmhurst Lane - Upgrade to 2 improved lanes from Portsmouth Boulevard to <br />Clifford Street. <br /> <br />4. Elm Avenue - Upgrade to 4 lanes from County Street to the Jordan Bridge. <br /> <br />5. Deep Creek Boulevard - Upgrade to 2 improved lanes from Wright Avenue to the <br />southern city limit. <br /> <br />6. Virginia Avenue - Upgrade to 2 improved lanes between London Boulevard and <br />Hartford Street. <br /> <br />7. I-264 Exit Ramp - New exit ramp westbound 1-264 to Elmhurst Lane and closure <br /> <br /> ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on July <br />10, 2001. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
