R-01-50 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO GRANT A <br />PERMANENT DRAINAGE EASEMENT AND A TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION <br />EASEMENT OVER, UNDER AND ACROSS THE SITE OF THE I C. NORCOM HIGH <br />SCHOOL. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the site of the I. C. Norcom High School is titled in the name of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WItEREAS, the site is used for an active school, and is controlled by the School Board <br />of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia acting through the Virginia Deparanent of <br />Transportation "VDOT" desires to construct a double box culvert for storm drainage in <br />connection with its plans to improve Turnpike Road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the School Board of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia has agreed by a <br />resolution that the City Manager grant easements for such construction to the Commonwealth of <br />Virginia. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City <br />Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to grant and convey to the Commonwealth of Virginia <br />easements over and across the Site of the I. C. Norcom High School as follows: <br /> <br />1. A permanent easement for drainage over and across that certain land from <br />opposite approximate Survey Traverse Outfall gl centerline Station 22+33 m <br />opposite approximate Survey Traverse Outfall #1 centerline Station 28+46, <br />containing 0.738 acres, more or less, and as shown as outlined in pink on photo- <br />copies of Sheets No. 17C and 17Dofthe plans for State Highway Route 337, <br />Project 0337-124-V04-R201. <br /> <br />2. A temporary construction easement over and across that certain land from <br />opposite approximate Survey Traverse Outfall #1 centerline Station 22+33 to <br />opposite approximate Survey Traverse Ouffall #1 centerline Station 28+46, <br />containing 0.243acm, more or less. and as shown in maroon on photocopies of <br />Sheets N0.17C and 17D of the plans for State Highway Route 337, Project 0337- <br />124-V04-R201. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City manager grant such easements under such <br />conditions as he deems appropriate and in the best interest of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br />ADOPTED at a meeting of the C6uncil of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia held on June <br />12, 2001. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
